Condo Control: Configure Push Notifications and Schedule Announcements

To configure push notifications and schedule announcements in Condo Control, an admin needs to enable notifications at the building level, confirm each user’s mobile app notification permission, then create an announcement and set its publish date/time (and audience) so it sends automatically. If everything is already set up, the main work is choosing the right audience, testing with a small group, and confirming delivery in the activity/log area.

Before changing anything (quick checks)

  • Role/permission: must be Admin/Manager (or a role allowed to post announcements).
  • Mobile app installed: push notifications only go to users signed into the Condo Control app.
  • Phone settings: iPhone/Android must allow notifications for Condo Control (otherwise nothing will “push”).
  • Correct community selected: if managing multiple properties, confirm the right building/community is active.

Enable push notifications (platform + user side)

  • In Condo Control, open Settings (or Administration) and find Notifications or Communication Settings.
  • Turn on options that allow Announcements to trigger push notifications (wording varies by setup).
  • Confirm residents/staff are active users with the correct unit/email and not marked inactive.
  • Ask a test user to check phone permissions:
    • iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Condo Control → Allow Notifications ON.
    • Android: Settings → Apps → Condo Control → Notifications ON.

Create an announcement and schedule it

  • Go to Announcements (sometimes under Communication).
  • Select Create/New Announcement.
  • Fill in Title and Message. Keep the first line clear because it often shows on lock screens.
  • Choose Audience (who receives it): building-wide, specific blocks, specific units, owners only, tenants only, staff, etc.
  • Find Publish options and choose Schedule (instead of Post Now).
  • Set Date/Time and confirm the time zone used by the property.
  • Enable the option like Send push notification (if it’s a checkbox/toggle).
  • Save/Confirm. The announcement should show as Scheduled until it publishes.

Avoid the most common mistakes

  • Wrong audience: most “it didn’t send” issues are actually sent to a different group.
  • Users not logged in: push won’t reach someone who never signed into the app.
  • Phone notifications blocked: the platform can send, but the phone can still silence it.
  • Scheduling confusion: posting time may follow the property’s time zone, not the manager’s.

Test and confirm it worked

  • Create a test announcement to staff only or a small group.
  • After publish time, check:
    • Announcement status changed from Scheduled to Published.
    • Activity/Logs (if available) for delivery events.
    • A test phone received a push and the announcement appears in the portal/app.

Troubleshooting if pushes still don’t arrive

  • No one gets pushes: re-check building notification settings and whether announcements are configured to trigger push.
  • Some users get pushes, others don’t: it’s usually phone permissions, logged-out app, or wrong user profile/unit link.
  • Scheduled announcement didn’t publish: confirm date/time, time zone, and that it was saved (not left as draft).

When to contact Condo Control support

  • Announcements publish but no pushes ever send even with correct settings and multiple test devices.
  • User accounts are correct but the system shows no notification events/logs.
  • Role/permission issues where the scheduling or push toggle is missing for admins.
